Katy’s fast-casual scene is about to pick up a new fusion player. Tikka Bowls and Tacos is set to open its first Greater Houston location this summer, with owner Sagar Patel confirming that the Indo-Mex spot is headed for a Grand Parkway storefront. The fast-casual concept centers on build-your-own bowls, naan tacos and other mashup plates, adding another option to the area’s growing casual dining lineup.
What To Expect
Patel described the restaurant as a “Chipotle concept with Indian fusion,” featuring naan tacos, butter chicken bowls and tikka masala wings, according to Community Impact. The Katy location is also slated to serve Indian beverages, fresh lemonades and draft beer, giving diners a mix of familiar fast-casual service and spicier flavors.
Brand Roots And Where Else To Try It
Founded in Florida, Tikka Bowls and Tacos lists several locations on its website, including an Arlington restaurant and the upcoming Katy spot, per Tikka Bowls and Tacos' website. Coverage in the Dallas Observer highlighted the brand’s 2024 debut in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and praised its build-your-own format. Those early writeups suggest the combo of Indian curries with a Mexican-style assembly line is catching on in the fast-casual world.
When To Expect It
Patel told Community Impact that the Katy store is expected to open in July or August. Locals can keep an eye on neighborhood listings and the company’s site for a firm opening date and any soft-opening details before the full launch.
