Kids in Grapevine who have always wanted to run the big machines are getting their shot this weekend. Dig World, a construction-themed adventure park where children and adults climb into real excavators and drive skid steers, is opening across from Grapevine Mills with an experience built around hands-on operator challenges instead of traditional rides. The outdoor park features play areas with games, training pits, and a "crusher" novelty that flattens toys into souvenirs. Tickets and multi-visit passes are already on sale for the grand opening, with organizers pitching the concept as part high-energy family outing, part educational crash course in how heavy equipment actually works.
What You'll Find At Dig World
Visitors can take a spin on a skid-steer course, tackle the "Ultimate Dig" excavator challenges, and step into a Dude Perfect Zone with trick-shot games and an Exca-Putter mini-excavator golf hole, according to Dig World. The lineup also features Dig Academy training pits, operator games that turn fixing broken pipes and connecting rail segments into timed competitions, and a scissor-lift aerial platform so guests can grab those high-angle photos.
Tickets And Passes
Standard single-day entry starts at $30 for guests ages 2 and older, with a 90-day "Crew" pass at $75, a 12-month pass at $150, and a $50 premium pass that includes a crusher voucher and one bottled drink, as reported by Community Impact. The outlet also reports that the crusher attraction uses a heavy roller to squash toys into flattened keepsakes that visitors can take home.
Voices Behind The Build
"I always tell people, 'these aren't rides, these are real machines - it's as real as it gets,'" Dig World co-founder Alex Reszitnyk said, according to Community Impact. Local partners and Caterpillar dealers told reporters they backed the project as a way to bring families together around supervised, hands-on STEM-style play that still feels like pure fun for the kids.
How It Fits Into Grapevine's Scene
Dig World covers roughly 2.3 acres at 2200 West Grapevine Mills Circle, directly across from the mall, according to city planning documents. The first Dig World launched in Katy in 2022 and has attracted more than 200,000 visitors, and organizers in Grapevine told reporters they plan to use timed entry and preview events to manage busy summer weekends, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
What To Know Before You Go
Dig World lists hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, with preview access the week before the official celebration, and provides a local phone number for bookings and group events on its location page, according to Dig World. Guests should be prepared for safety briefings before they operate any machinery, and the park allows advance online reservations for birthday parties, field trips, and private rentals.
Grand Opening And Coverage
The Grapevine Chamber has listed a grand-opening celebration for this weekend and local TV crews have already aired short previews of the attraction, giving families an early look before the gates officially open, per the Grapevine Chamber and CBS News Texas. Organizers caution that peak summer days could sell out, so booking ahead is strongly encouraged for anyone who does not want to be left watching the diggers from the sidelines.
