A quiet stop at a Greenville County food truck turned terrifying Thursday night when a person was robbed at gunpoint, according to deputies. Investigators say a man wearing a tan shirt pulled a gun on the victim, grabbed items, then bolted before law enforcement could move in.
The holdup happened at a food truck along Old Buncombe Road near Brockman Avenue. Deputies swarmed the area and searched nearby streets, but by the time they arrived, the suspect had already taken off. According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the robbery took place Thursday at a food truck set up on Old Buncombe Road near Brockman Avenue, WYFF reports. Deputies told investigators the suspect was described as a man in a tan shirt who brandished a firearm, demanded the victim’s belongings and then ran away.
Crews stayed on scene as deputies canvassed the surrounding area and searched for the suspect. WYFF reported the suspect had already fled and a search was underway.

This is not the first time a food truck has been hit by an armed robber in Greenville County this month. At least one other food truck robbery was reported on July 2, according to local dispatch coverage by FOX Carolina.
Local reports noted a July 2 food truck robbery, but the coverage did not indicate whether the incidents were linked. According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), South Carolina's robbery rate decreased by 11.7% from 2023 to 2024.
