Two people were shot Friday night near a Harlem basketball court, prompting a swift police response and drawing TV news helicopters that circled overhead as officers flooded the area, authorities said.
According to a Chopper 2 report from Dan Rice for CBS News New York, police were investigating a double shooting at the scene Friday night. The station reported that officers were still gathering information and that no immediate details were available on the victims' injuries or whether any arrests had been made.
Uptown Violence Has Flared This Month
The shooting comes on the heels of other recent gun violence in the neighborhood. On June 21, four people, including two teenagers, were wounded near a Harlem playground when gunfire shattered a Harlem playground, according to a previous report.
