Two Bed-Stuy seniors were robbed at gunpoint in the dead of night Monday, after a man pulled a gun on them near Franklin and Lexington avenues and stripped them of their belongings, police said.
The victims, a 70-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man, were walking in the area around 2 a.m. when a man approached, displayed a firearm and demanded their property, according to News 12 New York. Police said the suspect took a purse and a wallet holding about $900, then ran off toward Quincy Street. Investigators are now asking anyone who recognizes the man to come forward.
Police appeal for tips
Officers are urging neighbors to check any building or doorbell cameras that might have captured the suspect before or after the robbery. According to NYPD Crime Stoppers, tips can be called in at 1-800-577-TIPS or submitted anonymously online. Information that leads to an arrest and indictment may be eligible for a reward.
