
Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who slashed a 28-year-old on West 117th Street late Monday night, June 8. Police say the attack, which left the victim with a cut to his arm, happened at about 11:50 p.m. in front of 257 West 117 Street, inside the NYPD’s 28th Precinct. The suspect ran east along 117th Street and remains at large.

According to a bulletin from NYPD Crime Stoppers, an unidentified individual displayed a sharp object and slashed the man on the arm before fleeing on foot eastbound toward 117th Street. The notice names the location and approximate time of the incident and asks anyone with information or video from the block to contact investigators. The post also notes that tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
Why the Bulletin Was Issued Now
The Crime Stoppers alert went up on July 9, weeks after the June 8 attack, and again urges anyone who might have information or relevant footage from that night on West 117th Street to reach out to investigators.
