A Wednesday night shooting in Henderson turned a quiet block into an active crime scene, after two men were wounded in a burst of gunfire on Marshall Street.
Henderson police said officers rushed to the 700 block of Marshall Street around 6:30 p.m. for a shots-fired call and found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a local hospital, where his injuries were described as non-life-threatening. A short time later, a second victim, identified by authorities as 26-year-old Zavid Person, showed up at an emergency room with a gunshot wound that investigators believe is tied to the same incident.
According to WRAL, the man found on Marshall Street was identified as 37-year-old Shiquan Clark. Police said Clark’s head wound was non-life-threatening and he was transported for treatment. Detectives processed the scene into the evening, but officers did not immediately announce any arrests. A troubling run of gun violence this year
The Marshall Street shooting adds to a string of violent incidents that have unsettled Vance County in 2024. In June, a shooting left 15-year-old Manny Escobedo dead and two others injured, a case covered by ABC11. Then on July 19, another shooting in Henderson turned fatal, prompting a multi-agency response, as reported by ABC11. Investigators in these cases have repeatedly urged residents to hang on to any video they may have and call tip lines as they look for possible links between incidents.

Detectives said they plan to keep canvassing the Marshall Street area for witnesses and evidence and have not released additional information about a suspect, according to WRAL.
