
An early-morning shooting on Cleveland’s East Side sent a man to University Hospitals in critical condition today, after emergency crews found him with a gunshot wound to the leg in the 1200 block of East 60th Street. Cleveland police and investigators stayed on scene for hours as crews worked through the morning.
Cleveland EMS told 19 News that medics located the wounded man on East 60th and rushed him to University Hospitals, where he remained in critical condition, according to 19 News. Reporter Ashley Pomplas noted that 19 News has reached out to Cleveland police for additional details on the shooting and any possible arrests.
Holiday Weekend Surge Strains Responders
The East 60th Street shooting is part of a rough Fourth of July stretch across the city. Police reported 17 people shot in 14 separate incidents over the holiday weekend, according to News 5 Cleveland. That surge has kept officers, EMS, and detectives bouncing from one scene to the next.
