Three men are headed to prison after admitting their roles in a deadly attack that left 39-year-old Rion Robinson mortally wounded outside a Holly Hills laundromat. On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in St. Louis Circuit Court, Anthony Hill was sentenced to 20 years in prison, while Calvin Anderson and Tyrell Henley received 10-year terms under cooperative plea agreements. Prosecutors say the violence grew out of neighborhood and personal disputes and unfolded on Jan. 18, 2024, with Robinson discovered the next morning on the 5200 block of South Grand Boulevard.
Sentences and pleas
According to FOX 2, Hill pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action as part of a deal that called for a 20-year prison term, and the judge accepted his pleas and sentenced him on the spot. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office said Anderson and Henley entered cooperative agreements to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and will each serve 10 years under those deals. Prosecutors noted that Hill had been scheduled to go to trial this week before reaching the agreement.
Surveillance video and injuries
Court documents describe surveillance footage that shows Hill and Henley attacking Robinson outside a vacant storefront while a third man records the assault on a phone, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Prosecutors allege that during the assault, one of the attackers pulled out a .22-caliber handgun and shot Robinson. The medical examiner determined Robinson had been shot in the torso and thigh, and detectives believe he remained alive for roughly 13 hours before dying on the sidewalk, the paper reported.
Charges and investigation
Prosecutors said Hill was initially charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm. Anderson and Henley first faced counts of second-degree murder, armed criminal action, third-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence. Court filings allege Anderson was the one filming the beating and that he later collected shell casings at the scene. Those details were included in the materials presented when the men finalized their plea agreements and the judge accepted their guilty pleas, FOX 2 reported.
What’s next
With the guilty pleas entered and the agreed-upon sentences imposed, the trial calendar for the case is effectively closed, and all three men will begin serving their terms in state prison. Prosecutors credited homicide detectives with assembling the surveillance footage and witness accounts that helped secure the plea agreements, according to local coverage.
