At just 23, Ohm Patel is betting big on beer and the Nashville suburbs. The young operator has signed on to bring Tampa-based craft beer bar The Brass Tap to the greater Nashville area, with Brentwood targeted first and Murfreesboro and Franklin lined up behind it. The deal will mark the brand’s first entry into Tennessee, and Patel says the goal is simple enough: build neighborhood hangouts where people actually want to linger.

Speaking with 1851 Franchise, Patel, a Mississippi State graduate who studied kinesiology and business, said he literally grew up in the family trade, living in hotels while his relatives ran hospitality and retail businesses. His uncle Sanjay, cousin Shivam, and father Chan will all be part of the Brass Tap push. Patel told the outlet he wants the Brentwood bar to feel like a community center, and that he has already signed an agreement to develop three units across the greater Nashville market. "I am a pretty simple person, and my main focus is on bringing people together," Patel told the outlet.

Brand and franchisor

The Brass Tap pitches itself as an upscale craft beer bar built around long tap walls, rotating selections from local breweries, live music and a steady calendar of community events. The company’s franchise materials list roughly 50 locations across more than a dozen states and highlight a model geared toward suburban neighborhoods. The concept sits under FSC Franchise Co., a Tampa-based multi-brand franchisor that also owns Beef 'O' Brady's and Newk's Eatery, per FSC Franchise Co..

Why the Nashville suburbs?

Brentwood, Franklin and Murfreesboro line up along some of Nashville’s fastest-growing commuter and retail corridors, a stretch that has become a magnet for restaurant and entertainment brands testing new suburban outposts. Developers and operators regularly point to steady leasing in Cool Springs and nearby centers as proof landlords are still hungry for fresh dining concepts. Recent commercial deals that included Brentwood and Franklin underscore how active the area remains, per The Real Deal.

What’s next

For now, Patel says the family is still scouting specific sites and has not set opening dates, with the Brentwood buildout taking priority. He credited the corporate team for its support during the discovery phase and thanked The Brass Tap staff for walking them through the shift from franchise agreements to on-the-ground development, per 1851 Franchise. For a preview of what he is aiming to recreate in Williamson and Rutherford counties, The Brass Tap's site highlights rotating beer lineups, trivia nights and live events as core parts of the in-bar experience.
