Houston’s annual excuse to wear white and roam the Heights is getting a new pregame stop this year. Good Game Sports Club is joining White Linen Night for the first time, opening its parking lot to an afternoon party before the neighborhood’s signature summer celebration takes over.
The 20th annual White Linen Night is set for Saturday in the Heights, where local businesses, artists and residents will gather for music, shopping, food and drinks. FOX 26 Houston reports that Good Game’s pre-party begins at 3 p.m. and will include DJs, vendor pop-ups and custom tote bag giveaways, along with a bourbon chocolate chip cookie collaboration with Pludgy’s Fine Cookies for the first 100 attendees.
Good Game Brings A Sports-Bar Spin To White Linen Night
Good Game manager Jason Andaya spoke with FOX 26 about the club’s first White Linen Night appearance. The North Shepherd sports bar is positioning the pre-party as an easy place to start the evening before visitors head toward the main festival, with the usual Houston combination of cold drinks, music and a crowd dressed like the city just declared war on dark colors.
West 19th Street Remains The Main Event
The official street festival is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. on the 200 and 300 blocks of West 19th Street between Yale and Ashland streets. A current Houston event guide says the pedestrian-only footprint will feature artisan vendors, live music, street performers, food, drinks and shopping throughout the evening.
The celebration also spills beyond the original 19th Street footprint. The Houston Press events listing includes M-K-T’s free White Linen Market from 4 to 9 p.m., with local makers, artists, plant sellers, food, DJs, live music and giveaways at 600 N. Shepherd Drive.
A Heights Tradition That Keeps Expanding
White Linen Night began in the Heights in 2006 after New Orleans transplants brought the tradition to Houston following Hurricane Katrina. The event was created to drive summer traffic to independent shops, galleries and restaurants, and the Houston Chronicle has described it as a way to help local businesses thrive during the city’s sweltering summer season.
That original merchant-focused idea is still visible in the 2026 lineup, even as White Linen Night has grown into a sprawling evening of parties and pop-ups across the neighborhood. For Good Game, the debut offers a chance to meet the Heights crowd before the main street party begins—and perhaps test whether a bourbon chocolate chip cookie can become the night’s most competitive matchup.
