A late-morning shooting steps from Martin Park shattered the quiet in Columbus’ Southern Orchards neighborhood yesterday, leaving one man dead and police hunting for a light-colored car seen fleeing the scene.
Officers were called at 9:29 a.m. to the 900 block of South 22nd Street, where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, according to The Columbus Dispatch. Medics took him to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, the downtown hospital that receives adult trauma patients, according to OhioHealth. He was pronounced dead at 11:08 a.m., The Columbus Dispatch reported.
Police Call For Tips
Columbus homicide detectives have opened a full investigation and are asking anyone who saw or recorded anything to speak up. Anyone with information is urged to call the Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
