Ingram Micro Services is shutting down its Chandler manufacturing facility by the end of the year, a move that will wipe out roughly 75 local jobs and thin out the city’s industrial corridor a bit more. The company disclosed the closure in a WARN notice filed last Wednesday, describing it as part of a broader effort to “optimize operations” and, in corporate-speak, better serve customers.
What the WARN notice says
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Ingram Micro’s filing notified state officials that the Chandler site will be shuttered and that 75 employees tied to the facility are on the chopping block.
State records on AZ Job Connection show the WARN notice was submitted last Wednesday, putting the clock in motion on the required lead time before the plant goes dark.
What the Chandler site does
Ingram Micro’s own location listing identifies the Chandler operation as a hub for IT asset processing, data sanitization, repair and refurbishment, and secure logistics. In other words, this is a lifecycle and aftermarket center that handles technology gear at the end of its first life, not a semiconductor fabrication plant.
What workers can expect and legal basics
Under the federal WARN Act, covered employers generally must provide 60 calendar days of advance notice before a plant closing or mass layoff, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. That notice is meant to give workers at least a short runway to plan their next move.
The state job board that posted the Ingram Micro filing, AZ Job Connection, can connect affected employees with re-employment services and other state resources as they look for new gigs.
Local context
The Ingram Micro shutdown is just one in a string of WARN notices filed in Arizona this year, a trend that has been logged by public trackers. Databases such as LayoffTracker list dozens of state filings in 2026.
With this closure, Chandler loses another name from its industrial lineup, and the move raises familiar questions: what happens to the site next, and how much of this work, if any, will stick around in Arizona under a different roof within the company?
