Family members say they are still searching for answers after the rider was found lying in the roadway and rushed to the hospital. Neighbors reported seeing a car speed away from the scene, and investigators are now asking the public to help track down the vehicle that took off.
The crash happened around 10:59 p.m., when a sedan and a motorcycle collided at the intersection, according to News4JAX, which reviewed the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office crash report. The report identifies the rider as 18-year-old Jaiden Alexander Swygert and lists his injuries as incapacitating. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue transported him to a nearby hospital. Witness accounts did not line up perfectly: one person described the fleeing car as a dark-colored sedan, another recalled a white vehicle with dark tint turning onto Dunn Creek Road and heading north, and one witness told investigators the motorcycle did not have lights on.
