A pricing dispute at a Wilmington hair salon spiraled into a chemical confrontation last week, ending with a stylist in handcuffs and two people in the hospital, according to state police.
Police details and arrest
Delaware State Police told FOX 29 Philadelphia that troopers were called to Thestylistmk on Kirkwood Highway around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Investigators said 22-year-old Mykahya Pritchett had just wrapped up an appointment when an argument broke out over how much the visit was going to cost.
According to the station’s report, the client paid part of the bill before heading outside with their parents. Police said Pritchett allegedly followed the family out of the salon and sprayed all three with a chemical agent. Two of the victims were taken to a hospital for treatment, while the third was not injured.
Pritchett was arrested the next day and charged with three counts of second-degree assault, authorities told the station. She was released after posting $15,000 bail.
Kirkwood Highway has seen similar pepper-spray incidents
The confrontation is the latest in a string of pepper-spray cases along Kirkwood Highway. In May, NBC10 Philadelphia reported that a woman was arrested after allegedly pepper-spraying two employees at the Dollar Tree at 2103 Kirkwood Highway during a shoplifting incident. That case also resulted in felony second-degree assault charges.
Charges and next steps
According to the FOX 29 Philadelphia account, Pritchett faces three counts of second-degree assault and was released on $15,000 bail. Court records and arraignment details were not immediately available, and Delaware State Police did not offer additional comment beyond what was provided to the station.
