
Prince George’s County police are turning up the volume again in the hunt for 34-year-old Dayvon Gordon, the man they say is wanted in the 2020 killing of 22-year-old Andre Lamont Cox Jr. in Landover. The U.S. Marshals Service is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Gordon’s arrest, and investigators say he may be getting help from others while he stays on the run.
Police Release Wanted Poster And Federal Reward
In a June 30 post, the Prince George’s County Police Department shared a detailed wanted poster for Gordon and noted that the U.S. Marshals Service is offering “up to a $10,000 reward” for information that leads to his arrest, including the Marshals tip email and 24-hour line, according to Prince George’s County Police Department. Police said Gordon’s last known address was in Washington, D.C., and urged anyone who might be assisting him to contact detectives.
What Investigators Say About The 2020 Killing
Officers responded on October 27, 2020, to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue in Landover, where 22-year-old Andre Lamont Cox Jr. was found outside with multiple gunshot wounds and later died, according to reporting by The Washington Post. Investigators said the shooting appeared to stem from a dispute among people who knew one another.
Two Suspects Identified, One Arrested
Detectives identified two suspects in the case. One of them, 18-year-old Tahj Vandy, was arrested shortly after the October 2020 shooting, while Gordon remained at large. Family members and the homicide unit told NBC4 Washington that Cox’s relatives have kept pushing for answers and that detectives want anyone who may be hiding or helping Gordon to come forward.
Charges, Description And Photos
Police list Gordon as a 34-year-old Black man, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 155 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He is wanted on charges that include first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, use of a firearm during a violent crime and second-degree assault. The wanted poster features two photos of Gordon, one dated October 6, 2016, and another dated October 11, 2021, that show differences in his appearance, according to the PGPD news release.
