A woman leaving a San Fernando Valley gym was allegedly followed home and sexually assaulted, and Los Angeles police are now searching for the man they say carried out the attack. The suspect remains unidentified.

The case is being handled by the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division, which lists Valley Village among the communities it serves, according to the LAPD’s North Hollywood station page.

According to FOX 11 Los Angeles, police say the man approached the woman from behind, forcefully removed her pants and underwear, and sexually assaulted her by inserting a finger into her anus without consent. Investigators have not said whether the suspect is connected to any other cases in the area.

Police Release Description Of Valley Village Assault Suspect

LAPD describes the suspect as a roughly 6-foot-tall man with a large build, bushy black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and brown or black boots, police said.
