Cow Tipping Creamery's Frisco outpost at The Star will serve its final scoops next Tuesday, wrapping up nearly a decade of development. The ice cream counter's suite is set to be reborn as the Imperial Room, a tiny cocktail bar that will share a kitchen with neighboring Cane Rosso and seat roughly two dozen guests.

As reported by The Dallas Morning News, the Imperial Room is planned as a roughly 600-square-foot, 25-seat cocktail room, with drinks by Gabe Sanchez and programming geared toward special-occasion nights, while Cane Rosso holds down the more casual evenings. The build will reuse the space next to the pizza restaurant so the bar can operate without a separate full kitchen, according to the report.

Jeff Amador, a partner in the Dallas-based restaurant group that owns Cane Rosso and Cow Tipping, told The Dallas Morning News that the ice cream business at The Star has been "extremely seasonal" and that the team is "already working on something new and completely different" for the spot. That reality nudged the group toward a low-capacity cocktail concept instead of a full-service restaurant replacement.

Cow Tipping's run at The Star

Cow Tipping opened at The Star in 2017 as one of the early tenants, after getting its start in the mid-2010s as a trailer before expanding into brick-and-mortar shops. Eater Dallas chronicled the joint opening with Cane Rosso, while Eater Austin has detailed the brand's early history and evolution. Local reporting from Community Impact says the Frisco counter will close next Tuesday and notes that the location posted a farewell message on social media.

What it means for The Star

The change is the latest example of turnover and refreshes inside The Star, which continues to pull in both national chains and smaller, concept-driven tenants. A Hoodline report that spotlighted another new tenant at the complex underscored an ongoing push to keep the dining lineup varied for game days, events and everyday visitors.

Fans looking for one last Cow Tipping fix can visit the Frisco counter through next Tuesday, according to local reports. Cane Rosso will remain in place, and the Imperial Room's public opening date has not yet been announced.
