A late-night party outside an Arlington apartment complex turned violent yesterday when gunfire left three men wounded and sent police on a quick search for a fleeing pickup. All three victims were taken to nearby hospitals and are expected to survive, according to police.
Arlington officers were responding to calls about a fight at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Terrell Circle around 3:30 a.m. when they were flagged down and directed to three men suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators say two people had shown up at the party and started a fight, and that one of them allegedly grabbed a gun and fired multiple rounds before the pair took off in a pickup truck later identified by witnesses, NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth reported.
Suspects Tracked To Mansfield
After Arlington police broadcast a BOLO to surrounding areas, Mansfield police and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office spotted and stopped the truck in Mansfield. Two men inside were detained and then arrested after a witness identified them as the suspects, according to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth.
Victims And Investigation
The victims, described by police as men ages 23, 36, and 45, were taken to local hospitals and are expected to survive their injuries. Authorities have not released the names of the men who were detained, and the investigation remains active as detectives interview witnesses and review any available surveillance from the gathering.
What Officials Are Asking
Arlington police are asking anyone who attended the party or who may have cell phone or other video from the incident to contact investigators to help clarify how the shooting unfolded. The department noted that the arrests came after witness cooperation and coordination with neighboring agencies, and that detectives are continuing to work the case.
