A late-night crash on 19th Avenue SE in Everett turned deadly Tuesday when a motorcycle collided with a vehicle near 98th Street SE, killing the rider at the scene, according to officials.
Everett fire and police crews were called out around 10 p.m., where they found a man in his late 20s with critical injuries. First responders from Everett Fire Department and Everett Police tried life-saving measures but were unable to revive him.
The department said the collision involved one vehicle and a motorcycle, and that Everett Police’s Traffic Safety Unit responded to investigate. In the immediate aftermath, 19th Avenue SE was shut down in both directions between 96th Place SE and 100th Street SE, with officials urging drivers to steer clear of the area and expect delays while detectives worked.

Everett Police Traffic Safety detectives are leading the investigation and are expected to remain on scene for several hours as they document the crash and collect evidence. As outlined by the City of Everett, the department previously assigned traffic detectives following a deadly multi-vehicle crash on 19th Avenue SE earlier this year.
