A late-night ride on northbound Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs turned deadly Thursday when a motorcyclist missed a curve, struck the median and crossed into southbound lanes, according to police. The rider died at the scene, and investigators with the Colorado Springs Police Department's Major Crash Team are treating speed as a possible factor.
According to KOAA News5, the crash happened a little before 11:00 p.m. between the Cimarron Street and Tejon Street exits. KOAA reports that all southbound lanes and two northbound lanes were shut down for several hours while crews processed the scene, and that the El Paso County coroner will release the rider's identity at a later time.
