A man was found fatally shot early Wednesday near an apartment complex in North Versailles, launching a homicide investigation in the eastern Pittsburgh suburbs. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
Dispatchers received a call for a welfare check and a man down around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday along Irishtown Road, according to CBS Pittsburgh. First responders found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene. The shooting appears to have happened near the Oak Hill Apartments, the station reported.
Police Ask For Information
The Allegheny County Police Department’s homicide unit was called to assist with the investigation. Anyone with information can call 1-833-ALL-TIPS, and callers may remain anonymous, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.
