
A deadly stabbing just steps behind Taylor’s police station early Thursday has homicide detectives working an active case and neighbors asking how such a violent attack unfolded so close to law enforcement.
Police say a man was stabbed to death at about 4 a.m. in the 11300 block of Elm Street, directly behind the city’s police headquarters. Authorities have not released the victim’s name or any description, and investigators remained on scene processing evidence as the investigation continued.
Police: Suspect arrested in Detroit
According to WXYZ, officers say a woman was taken into custody in Detroit after she was found hiding in a bush in a field. Taylor homicide detectives are leading the probe, and, so far, police have shared only limited details about what led up to the stabbing or how the suspect ended up miles away in Detroit.
Where the call came in
The Taylor Police Department’s public directory lists the department at 23515 Goddard Road and notes that Investigative Services and the Records Bureau handle follow-up on serious incidents, per the City of Taylor website. The city site also provides the department’s non-emergency number for tips and records requests.
Investigation ongoing
Police have not released a possible motive, confirmed what charges the woman may face, or identified the victim. Detectives say they are still developing leads and processing the scene.
