The confrontation unfolded at 126th Street and 26th Avenue in Queens, and the victim was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, where he is listed in stable condition while officers continue to scour the neighborhood for the suspect.
According to ABC7 New York, the assault happened just after 5:35 a.m. and left the man with wounds to his head, arm, and chest, injuries police say were inflicted with a meat cleaver. Witnesses told investigators the dispute started as a traffic-related argument that quickly escalated, and detectives canvassed the area for surveillance video and witnesses. The suspect is described as an Asian man wearing a white shirt and jeans, and police said no arrests had been made as of Thursday.
