A Michelin-starred chef is dialing up Tampa’s Italian game this fall, with V Modern Italian set to land at Hyde Park’s Rome Collective in September. The new spot is expected to serve antipasti, fresh-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas and a tight cocktail and European wine program. It will be the brand’s first Tampa outpost after launching its flagship in Nashville.
According to Creative Loafing Tampa, Nashville-based Fast Fine Restaurant Group announced that V, styled as the Roman numeral five, will open at Rome Collective in September, with special programming and grand-opening celebrations to be revealed in the coming months. While the Tampa menu has not yet been released, Creative Loafing notes that the Nashville flagship runs at relatively modest price points, with pasta around $17–$24, pizza $18–$25 and entrées $27–$39. The outlet also cites co-founder Benjamin Calleja, who said the concept was created “on the belief that exceptional dining should engage all five senses.”
Chef and the menu
Chef Stefano Ciotti, the chef-patron behind Nostrano in Pesaro, Italy, is collaborating on the Tampa menu. Nostrano is listed in the Michelin Guide, and Ciotti has held a star there for several years. That partnership suggests V will blend polished technique with more casual price points, mirroring the brand’s Nashville formula. The flagship dining room leans heavily on house-made pastas, hand-crafted pizzas and an all-day social vibe, a blueprint Tampa diners can likely expect to see tailored to this market.
Where it will sit in Hyde Park
V is slated to open inside Rome Collective at 202 N Rome Ave, a 38,900-square-foot retail development at North Rome Avenue and North A Street that is bringing several new restaurants to the corridor. Commercial leasing pages list the address and the size of the center. The addition expands dining options north of Hyde Park Village and places V alongside other recently announced concepts planned for the complex, as reported by the Tampa Bay Times.
