Just after midnight Friday, a 39-year-old man was found fatally shot near the intersection of Wright and Grange Avenues in Racine. Emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene, and officers quickly taped off the area while detectives got to work.
According to Racine Police, the man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died where he was found. Investigators say the case appears to be an "isolated" incident and are searching for possible suspects while they canvass the neighborhood and follow up on tips, as reported by WTMJ.
The killing adds to a tense month in Racine. Earlier this month, two men were injured in a drive-by shooting at an Amoco gas station on Douglas Avenue, a case that remains under investigation, according to FOX6.
