Just after midnight Sunday, a man was shot multiple times near Nyack Plaza and left with serious injuries, according to Orangetown police. Officers found him lying in the grass near 403 Nyack Plaza and immediately began life-saving first aid until paramedics arrived. He was taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center, where he was listed with serious injuries.
Officers had been dispatched to the area after reports of shots fired near Depew Avenue and South Franklin Street at about 12:01 a.m., Daily Voice reported. Patrol officers applied tourniquets to the victim’s arm and leg before members of the Nyack Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics took over care at the scene.
By the time officers arrived, the shooter had already taken off, and a search of the surrounding area did not turn up a suspect, investigators said. Orangetown police told Daily Voice they believe the shooting was targeted. The Rockland County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Clarkstown Police Department assisted at the scene.

The Orangetown Police Detective Bureau is continuing to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information can call the non-emergency number listed by the village and ask for the Detective Bureau. This story will be updated as investigators release additional details.
