
A 27-year-old man was found dead inside a vehicle early today after Oak Park officers responded to reports of gunfire along Meyers Road, according to authorities. The man, discovered in the 21300 block of Meyers, had an apparent gunshot wound, and no other injuries were reported at the scene.
Oak Park public safety officers were called to the area around 2 a.m. on reports of suspected shots fired and found the victim inside the vehicle when they arrived, CBS Detroit reported. The Oak Park Public Safety Investigations Bureau is leading the case, and investigators have not released the man’s name.
Investigation under way
The City of Oak Park’s Department of Public Safety, which oversees police, fire and emergency medical services, maintains public records and resources tied to active investigations, according to the City of Oak Park website. Detectives were processing the scene and collecting evidence as the investigation remained active.
