Pinellas Park just added a new player to its medical lineup, as city officials celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Pinellas County Rehabilitation Hospital, a 36-bed inpatient facility at 3410 Gateway Centre Parkway. City leaders, hospital staff and business partners gathered for the ceremony and posed for photos that the city later shared with short, motivational captions. The hospital says it will serve patients from across the region who need specialized inpatient rehabilitation care.
New 36‑Bed Facility Brings Rehab Services to Gateway Area
Behind the front doors of the single-story hospital are private patient rooms, a dedicated therapy gym and spaces built out for intensive physical, occupational and speech therapies. The hospital describes its team as providing individualized, high-intensity therapy plans for people recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological disorders and complex orthopedic conditions, according to Pinellas County Rehab Hospital.
From Everest to Pinellas County Rehab
The facility reopened this year after Nobis acquired the former Everest Rehabilitation St. Petersburg and rebranded the hospital as Pinellas County Rehabilitation Hospital. Beckers Hospital Review reported the February acquisition, while a Nobis Rehabilitation Partners announcement notes that the hospital includes 36 private rooms and a rehabilitation therapy gym.
Ribbon Cutting Drew Local Partners
The hospital marked its debut with an open house and ribbon-cutting event last Tuesday, according to local event listings. Bay News 9 and the facility's event notices list the ceremony at the Gateway Centre Parkway address, and organizers say the Pinellas Park Gateway Chamber of Commerce joined city officials for the celebration, as noted on the hospital's LinkedIn page.
Part Of A Larger Push In Florida
The opening is part of a broader Nobis strategy in Florida as the company continues rebranding and launching inpatient rehabilitation hospitals around the state. Business Observer and other industry coverage highlight Nobis' recent moves in Bradenton and additional markets as operators look to build out post-acute capacity.
