An early-morning assault at a north Charlotte apartment complex left one person fighting for life, according to city and emergency-response officials. The call came from the 6100 block of Bennettsville Lane, an apartment complex just off Mallard Creek Road, and was first reported around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday. Mecklenburg EMS crews rushed the victim to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, where the person was being treated for critical injuries.
According to Queen City News, Medic reported that one person had been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and taken to Atrium Health. The outlet noted that it contacted the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for comment, but authorities had not released additional details at the time of that report. Police have not publicly explained what led to the assault or identified any suspects as the investigation continues. Where the Victim Was Taken
Paramedics transported the patient to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, the region’s only Level I trauma center, which is equipped to handle high-acuity and time-sensitive injuries, per Atrium Health. No further update on the victim’s condition had been made public.
