A Sunday morning in north Harris County ended in tragedy when a 17-year-old girl and her 29-year-old brother were shot and killed in what deputies describe as an apparent domestic-violence shooting. Investigators say the girl's 19-year-old ex-boyfriend showed up at a home, a confrontation followed, and both siblings were fatally wounded. A toddler at the scene was not hurt. According to ABC13, deputies responded to the 200 block of W. Canino Road around 10:50 a.m. after a 911 call reported a disturbance. Initial accounts given to investigators said the 17-year-old was outside a home with a toddler when her 19-year-old ex-boyfriend arrived and a fight erupted.
Investigators told ABC13 that the victim's 29-year-old brother stepped in front of his sister during the confrontation, and both were shot. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Patrol units, working with Humble police and K-9 teams, later located the suspect in the 8800 block of Will Clayton Road and took him into custody. Deputies say possible charges are pending as the case is prepared for prosecutors.
