Officers responding to reports of gunfire in the 3500 block around 10:14 p.m. found the teen suffering from gunshot wounds and rushed him for medical care, but he did not survive. Detectives have opened a homicide investigation and are working the neighborhood for witnesses and any camera footage that might explain what happened.
FOX 5 DC reports that officers arrived shortly after 10 p.m. and located the juvenile victim, who was then transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police have not yet released the boy's name as the investigation continues.
