A wild chase involving a reportedly stolen Chevrolet Camaro ended Wednesday evening in a crunch of metal at North Shepherd Drive and Veterans Memorial Drive in northwest Houston, leaving one Harris County constable and two civilians with non-life-threatening injuries and several patrol cars banged up.

According to FOX 26 Houston, Harris County Constable Precinct 1 said the driver, in a reported stolen Camaro, purposely rammed into officers and bystanders while trying to get away, then was taken into custody at the intersection. Precinct 1 reported that one of its units and two Houston Police Department patrol cars were damaged. Officials told the station the driver now faces multiple felony counts, although the exact charges had not yet been specified.

Car thefts and dangerous pursuits continue to be a headache across Harris County.
