A northwest Charlotte jewelry store was hit in an armed robbery Wednesday, with the thief allegedly leaving with watches, rings, purses, wallets and two firearms.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating the robbery at Whitewater Diamonds in the 3600 block of Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road, according to Queen City News. Police said an unknown suspect threatened to use a dangerous weapon, but have not released a suspect description or said whether anyone was injured.
Police List Jewelry And Firearms Among Stolen Items
The stolen property included rings and watches, along with purses and wallets. CMPD also said a black AR-15 rifle with a Bear Creek lower receiver and a Sig Sauer P320 handgun were taken from the store.
Whitewater Diamonds describes itself as a third-generation family jewelry business that produces custom pieces in-house, according to the company’s official website. The shop is located in northwest Charlotte, near the Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road corridor.
Robbery Follows Separate Myers Park Jewelry Theft
The case comes weeks after CMPD obtained arrest warrants for two men accused of stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry from a separate Myers Park store. That earlier investigation was covered by Hoodline, and there is no indication the Myers Park theft is connected to the Whitewater Diamonds robbery.
Anyone with information about the northwest Charlotte robbery is asked to contact CMPD or Crime Stoppers, Queen City News reported. No arrest has been announced in the information released so far.
