A quiet stretch of Ayers Road turned deadly early Friday when a 30-year-old Orlando man was killed after his SUV left the roadway and rolled into a cow pasture in Hernando County. The single-vehicle crash happened around 6:30 a.m., and emergency crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Authorities said the Toyota 4Runner struck a fence before overturning multiple times inside the pasture.
According to the Tampa Free Press, citing the Florida Highway Patrol, the man had been traveling eastbound on Ayers Road when he lost control just west of Prosperity Lane. Troopers told the outlet the SUV left the roadway, crashed through a fence and entered an adjacent cow pasture, where it overturned several times. The Florida Highway Patrol has not released the driver's identity or any information about what may have caused the crash.

Ayers Road cuts through open farmland and pastureland in southern Hernando County, a corridor that has been drawing more planning attention as the area grows.
