An overnight armed robbery at a Greenville County store ended in gunfire late Thursday, leaving one person wounded and a suspect on the run, deputies said. The holdup happened around 10:15 p.m. at a business on 101 Allen Street, and the gunman took off before law enforcement arrived. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
According to FOX Carolina, Greenville County Communications received a 911 call about a man who walked into the store with a firearm and tried to steal merchandise. Deputies told the outlet the victim was shot at least once, and an active search is underway for the suspect.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call 911 immediately, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Greenville, which lists 23-CRIME as a reporting option.
