A Palm Coast man is sitting in the Flagler County jail on a $150,000 bond after deputies say he sexually abused two young girls over an extended period. Joseph D. Spector, 38, was arrested Saturday in Bunnell and charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation.
According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, the case kicked off in February 2025 when the Florida Department of Children and Families received a report of inappropriate touching. A DCF investigator then contacted a school resource deputy, and the case was handed off to the First Coast Child Protection Team for specialized interviews.
WKMG ClickOrlando reports that in an initial interview, one girl said Spector inappropriately touched her breast in 2022. Later interviews detailed repeated "cuddling sessions" where the alleged abuse took place. Investigators arranged to meet Spector at a restaurant in Bunnell on July 25, arrested him without incident, and booked him into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.
Victims’ Accounts And Evidence
During forensic interviews with the First Coast Child Protection Team, one victim told investigators that Spector showed her pornographic material, gave her alcohol, and initiated frequent "cuddling sessions" several times a week that turned sexual. She also said he abused her sister in a similar way, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
A second victim backed up that pattern, telling interviewers Spector also abused her and describing an incident in which he masturbated next to her, the sheriff’s office said.
Charges And What They Mean
Spector is charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation. Under Florida law, that offense covers intentionally touching a minor’s breasts, genitals, or the clothing over those areas and can be prosecuted as a felony depending on the ages of the victims and any prior convictions, according to Florida Statutes. He remains presumed innocent while the investigation moves toward potential charging and prosecution in court.
Sheriff Rick Staly praised the victims’ willingness to speak up and highlighted the case as a product of strong teamwork among agencies, according to WKMG ClickOrlando.
