Henry County investigators arrested Duncan Alexander Redmond in Paris on Friday after an online probe into suspected child sexual exploitation, charging him with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. He was booked into Henry County Corrections, and a judge set his bail at $250,000. Authorities say the arrest capped a case that started when a cybertip flagged alleged activity on the messaging app Kik.
Investigation traced to a CyberTipline report
The investigation began in May 2025 after the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a CyberTip alleging that a user on Kik was distributing child sexual abuse material. Using judicial subpoenas and search warrants, investigators traced a local IP address in Paris to Redmond, according to a report from the McKenzie Banner. It was the kind of digital paper trail ICAC teams now follow routinely in online exploitation cases.
How the arrest unfolded
According to a post from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, agents located Redmond’s vehicle with help from license-plate reader data supplied by the Paris Police Department. They then executed an arrest warrant at an apartment on North Market Street, where Redmond was taken into custody without incident. Investigators seized his phone and other property for forensic examination, and the sheriff’s office says court proceedings are pending.
TN ICAC and the CyberTipline
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is part of the Tennessee ICAC Task Force, a statewide network that pulls together local, state and federal investigators to work on online child exploitation cases, according to TN ICAC. The CyberTipline operated by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children serves as the national reporting hub that often triggers these local investigations, the organization explains on its site.
Charges and legal process
Redmond is charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, an offense defined in Tenn. Code Ann. § 39‑17‑1004. Under the statute, penalties vary with the amount and nature of the material and can be increased when a large number of images are involved, per the Tennessee Code. Convictions can carry lengthy prison sentences and other lasting consequences. Redmond is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
How the public can help
The sheriff’s office has asked anyone with information to call 731‑642‑1672 (Option #7) or to submit a tip to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1‑800‑THE‑LOST or via CyberTipline.org, reflecting guidance shared on the department’s Facebook page. Investigators are urging potential witnesses to preserve any digital evidence and not delete messages before speaking with law enforcement.
This arrest is the latest in a string of Internet Crimes Against Children investigations in West Tennessee, with local outlets documenting similar cases in Henry County and nearby jurisdictions over the past year. These multi-agency operations often draw on support from the TBI cyber unit and federal partners, according to previous local reporting that includes coverage by WSMV.
