An unidentified man died Monday after suffering life-threatening injuries in a vehicle-pedestrian collision on northbound Interstate 35 in Austin. The crash, reported Saturday night, is now the city’s 45th fatal crash of 2026.
A post from Austin Police Department said officers responded at about 8:59 p.m. Saturday to the 5600 block of N. IH-35 NB. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead two days later.

What Austin Police Have Confirmed
In its official release, APD said the incident is being investigated as Austin’s 45th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 45 deaths. By the comparable point in 2025, the department had recorded 55 fatal crashes and 59 fatalities.
