What started as a routine crash call in Penn Hills turned into a homicide investigation Tuesday afternoon, when officers discovered a man and a woman shot to death inside a vehicle. Police are describing the case as a domestic situation and have released only limited information about what led up to the wreck.
County 911 received a report of the crash around 3:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of West Barivista Drive, according to CBS Pittsburgh. Responding officers found both victims inside the vehicle, and each was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Have Not Identified The Victims
The initial police account did not identify the man or the woman, and authorities did not say whether anyone else had been inside the vehicle. The report also noted that no additional injuries were reported.
The investigation remains active as detectives work to piece together what happened before the shooting and crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers may remain anonymous, and CBS Pittsburgh reported that no further details had been released as of Tuesday night.
