Yesterday, a collision at a busy Plano intersection turned deadly when an adult female passenger was killed and at least one driver was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at Mission Ridge Road and West Parker Road. Emergency crews responded at about 2:40 p.m. and found an Infiniti QX50 that had struck a light pole after being hit by a Nissan Frontier. Eastbound West Parker was shut down to through traffic while Plano Police and Plano Fire-Rescue worked the scene. The Plano Police Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.
In a post on X from Plano Police, the department labeled the wreck a "FATALITY TRAFFIC CRASH" and said a Nissan Frontier struck an Infiniti QX50, which then hit a light pole. According to the post, the Infiniti's driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, and an adult female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Police asked anyone with information about the crash to contact the department's Traffic Unit.
