Authorities say roughly 100 people had gathered at a home on the 80 block of Mariva Street when the gunfire broke out. Deputies: Victim Found With Single Gunshot Wound
According to WXYZ, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to multiple calls from the block party and found the victim with a single gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Deputies estimated that about 100 people had been in attendance when the shooting occurred.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation and is urging anyone who saw or heard anything to come forward. At the scene, a 23-year-old Pontiac man approached deputies and admitted to the shooting, telling them he holds a concealed pistol license, according to WXYZ. Deputies reported seeing a handgun sticking out from the suspect’s waistband before taking him into custody. He is currently lodged in the Oakland County Jail and awaiting court action.
