National Avenue early Sunday, according to police. Officers were called to the scene at about 3:37 a.m., where they found both victims suffering from multiple stab wounds. The man later died, while the woman was treated for her injuries and released from a local hospital. Investigators say they are looking for a 25-year-old suspect who ran off before officers arrived, and an arrest warrant has already been issued.

West Milwaukee police say the case began as a reported domestic violence incident and appears to be a targeted, isolated stabbing, according to WTMJ. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office pronounced the 28-year-old man dead, while officials said the 25-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was released from a local hospital. Authorities say the case will be sent to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges once the suspect is in custody.
