The crash happened around 2:50 a.m. on July 18, 2026, when a Kia Sorento pulled into the motorcycle's path on Trouble Creek Road. Emergency crews took the rider to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to Tampa Free Press, the Florida Highway Patrol said a 61-year-old New Port Richey woman was stopped at a stop sign on Whitetail Lane and then pulled forward through a median break to cross Trouble Creek Road as the Suzuki motorcycle was heading westbound toward Spike Horn Drive. Troopers reported that the SUV entered the motorcycle's direct path and the two vehicles collided, leaving the rider with serious injuries. Investigators have not released the names of either person involved as they continue to sort out the sequence of events.
