After months of quiet and construction dust, Prime & Provisions, DineAmic Hospitality’s flagship steakhouse in the Loop, is about to fire the grills back up. The downtown spot will officially reopen on Saturday, July 18, following a late-2025 kitchen fire that shut the restaurant down for extensive repairs. The rebuilt space is set to bring back the steakhouse’s signature dry-aged cuts, with refreshed lighting and new summer menu additions to match the comeback.
DineAmic Hospitality has confirmed the July 18 return and says the renovated dining room will feature an expanded menu and updated lighting, as reported by Chicago Business Journal. Owners have described the work as a major reconstruction of the space, not just a quick patch job.
What’s coming back and what’s new
Regulars who have been missing their steak fix will see many of the old hits again, along with a few headline-grabbers. Prime & Provisions plans to bring back its in-house dry-aged prime steaks, a curated wine and cocktail program, and new highlights such as a 45-day dry-aged Linz Heritage Beef selection and a shellfish tower, according to Chicago Food Magazine.
“This reopening represents far more than reopening our doors,” DineAmic co-founder Luke Stoioff told Chicago Food Magazine, explaining that the team focused on restoring the familiar experience while modernizing select elements. The outlet also reports that the return will include a weekday happy hour with oyster specials and expanded private-dining capabilities, a welcome detail for office groups and celebration dinners looking to stretch out.
Reservations, logistics and dress code
Reservations are already live on the restaurant’s site. The reservations page lists “Reopening Saturday, July 18th,” along with hours of operation and a note that an 18% service charge will be included to support hourly staff, per the Prime & Provisions reservations page. The same page reiterates the restaurant’s sophisticated-casual dress code and provides contact information for private events. Guests booking early should expect those first seatings to show off the refreshed lighting and tweaked layout.
Why the comeback matters for the Loop
Prime & Provisions is a flagship concept for DineAmic Hospitality, the group behind Siena Tavern and Lyra, and its return restores dining capacity in a busy stretch of downtown, according to DineAmic Hospitality. The company has been building out its riverfront and downtown portfolio in recent seasons, and getting the steakhouse back online helps anchor its summer lineup. Local event planners and hospitality partners often lean on long-standing spots like Prime & Provisions to handle large private events during the warmer months, so this reopening plugs a noticeable hole in the Loop’s dinner-and-events calendar.
Doors officially open on July 18, and reservations are available now on the restaurant’s site. Diners curious about the updated menu can preview key highlights through the company announcement and lock in a table in advance.
