Nearly three weeks after two employees were punched during a robbery at a Rockaway Beach grocery store, police are asking the public to help identify the people who allegedly took merchandise and ran. The incident happened in the early evening, when employees tried to stop the pair from leaving without paying.
According to a Crime Stoppers bulletin circulated Wednesday, July 29, the robbery happened around 5:55 p.m. on July 8 inside the 100th Precinct. The two unidentified individuals allegedly punched a 46-year-old male employee and a 42-year-old male employee multiple times before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.
Police Released A Wanted Bulletin Nearly Three Weeks Later
The address listed in the police appeal matches Key Food's Rockaway Beach store. The NYPD has not publicly identified the two people sought in connection with the incident, and the bulletin did not announce any arrests.
The NYPD Crime Stoppers post includes surveillance images and asks anyone who recognizes the individuals or knows anything about the robbery to come forward.
Another Rockaway Beach Boulevard Robbery Made Police Bulletins This Month
The appeal follows a separate July 4 robbery on Rockaway Beach Boulevard in which three teenagers were allegedly confronted by three people, one of whom displayed a box cutter, according to Hoodline's earlier report. Police said the suspects in that case took a necklace and headphones before running away.
