The Radio City Rockettes are cranking up the Christmas Spectacular for 2026, rolling out a brand-new dance number, upgraded staging and the most performances the show has ever packed into a season. Announced on Thursday, July 23, the expanded production will run at Radio City Music Hall from Nov. 4, 2026 through Jan. 4, 2027, with 230 performances on the books. Longtime staples like the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers are sticking around, but audiences can expect fresh choreography and more immersive effects this winter.
In a press release via MSG Entertainment, the company described the beefed-up schedule as a response to overwhelming demand following the Rockettes' centennial season. The announcement notes that a new Rockettes sequence will bring the total number of set pieces to ten, and that the Nov. 4 through Jan. 4 run features the most performances at Radio City since the Spectacular debuted in 1933. The release also lays out box-office details and group-sales options for the upcoming season.
What's new this year
MSG says the new scene will be paired with immersive staging that builds on recent tech upgrades, including holographic animations, expansive digital projections and the venue's Sphere Immersive Sound system. According to the Rockettes' official event page, the retooled production will showcase ten show-stopping numbers while preserving crowd-pleasers like "New York at Christmas." The production team frames the update as a way to bring audiences "closer to the magic" by offering multiple perspectives on the onstage choreography.
Record run, bigger crowds
Last winter's centennial edition drew more than 1.2 million attendees across 216 performances, which the company called its highest attendance in 25 years. MSG's post-season wrap points to that milestone and the Spectacular's long reach, noting that the show has attracted more than 73 million people worldwide since its 1933 debut. The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers, a fixture from the earliest productions, remains a visual throughline amid the updated staging.
Tickets, schedule and practicalities
Tickets went on sale July 23, and the schedule on Ticketmaster shows multiple matinees and evening performances through December and into early January. The press release notes that box-office tickets at Radio City start at $50, while online purchases through the Rockettes' site begin at $55, which includes a $5 service fee. Courtney Sullivan, who joined the Rockettes in 2023, told amNY that getting ready for the Spectacular is equal parts intense training and mutual support. "The way that we hold each other up is an amazing representation of how this organization has evolved with the strength within," Sullivan said. The outlet also reported that the company expects dancers to rehearse roughly 316 hours over six weeks before opening night.
