Gunfire tore through a northwest San Antonio neighborhood Tuesday night, as deputies say an exchange of shots between moving vehicles left homes and cars hit and one man wounded.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reports that multiple callers from the 12600 block of Emmett Grove told dispatchers they heard several rounds and saw vehicles speeding away. When deputies arrived, they found bullet damage on residences and vehicles and began collecting spent shell casings across the block. A man later showed up at a nearby urgent care with a gunshot wound to his lower body and was referred to a local hospital for further treatment. In a Facebook update, the sheriff’s office said deputies were dispatched around 9:16 p.m. and determined that gunfire had been exchanged between two, possibly three, vehicles traveling through the neighborhood. The post notes that multiple residences and vehicles were struck and that several shell casings were recovered as the scene shifted from an active response to a crime scene investigation. According to KSAT, deputies arrived just before 9:30 p.m. The man who later checked in at a nearby urgent care was treated there for a gunshot wound to his lower body before being taken to a local hospital, and the sheriff’s office told the station the injury did not appear to be life-threatening.
