Auburn’s Crooked Lane Brewing Company is getting ready to pour a little closer to the valley. After roughly a year of scouting locations and bringing on a new partner to steer its next phase of growth, the brewery is planning a second taproom in Roseville. For regulars who already make the drive to Auburn, the new spot is meant to be a neighborhood hangout that cuts down the commute.
According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the brewery spent about a year hunting for the right Roseville address and has expanded its leadership team to handle the project. Crooked Lane currently brews and runs a taproom at 536 Grass Valley Highway in Auburn, per the brewery's website, serving a rotating lineup of beers and hosting regular events. Company representatives say the Roseville taproom will build on that mix of beer, food and community programming.
New Partner To Lead The Roseville Buildout
Crooked Lane has tapped Steve Hayer as a partner to lead site selection and the taproom buildout, according to a company announcement reprinted by Roseville Today. Teresa Psuty, the brewery’s brewmaster and president, told the outlet, “Steve has been a driving force in creating a community around craft beer for a long time.” The announcement also notes that Crooked Lane sponsors local soccer club Iron Rose FC, and the Roseville taproom is being positioned as a gathering spot for both fans and neighborhood regulars.
Reputation And Local Fit
Crooked Lane comes into Roseville with both competition and credentials. The brewery picked up a medal on the 2026 Brewers Cup of California winners list, a nod to its rising profile in the region. Its Auburn taproom is known for pub-style food, live events and guest taps, and the Roseville location is being framed as a complement to that service mix rather than a duplicate. So far, officials have not released a specific address or firm opening date while they continue site selection and buildout work.
The brewery and local business coverage say more details, including the exact Roseville location and an opening timeline, will be announced once permits are locked in and construction is further along. Until then, fans can keep an eye on Crooked Lane’s website and local outlets for official updates.
