A Friday night drive in east Roseville ended in tragedy when a car slammed into a sound wall, killing one passenger and injuring two other adults, according to police.
The single-vehicle collision happened around 6:30 p.m. at Secret Ravine Parkway and Alexandra Drive, where the car struck a sound barrier and triggered a major emergency response. Three adults were inside the vehicle. One passenger died at the scene, while the driver and another passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening, CBS Sacramento reported. Police shut down Alexandra Drive between Secret Ravine Parkway and Oak Crest Drive for an extended investigation.

The crash site sits in Roseville’s Stoneridge/Secret Ravine area, a fast-developing eastern neighborhood that ties together new housing, retail spots and open-space corridors. That mix of streets and land uses is laid out in the city’s Stoneridge Specific Plan.

The deadly wreck adds to a difficult year on local roads. In late May, a vehicle-bicycle collision near Roseville High School left one person dead and fueled ongoing worries about traffic safety, according to The Sacramento Bee. Advocates and officials have pointed to several serious crashes as a reason to revisit how city streets are designed and managed.

Police have not released the names of those involved or said what might have led up to the car hitting the wall, as reported by CBS Sacramento.
